ChinaTeach has contacts with schools, Universities and companies throughout China who are looking to recruit native speaker English teachers. All our contact schools and companies are fully licensed and approved by the Chinese government to recruit foreign teachers.
How Do We Help You Find a Teaching Job in China?
- We discuss with you your preferences as to location in China, type of school, age range of students, start date
- We match your job preferences to vacancies in schools in China
- We forward your details to schools or Universities
- We liaise with the school's Foreign Affairs Office or Recruitment Department and negotiate the contract
- We deal with any enquiries to the school on your behalf
- We organise the sending and signing of the contract
- We give advice on your visa application
- We keep in regular contact with you from your initial application to your arrival in China
- We provide a friendly, personal and efficient service throughout the process
What are the Steps?
- You book a place on one of our ChinaTeach Weekends, opting for the Job Placement Service.
- During the ChinaTeach weekend you discuss with us your preferences as to location, type of school, age range of students, start date
- After the weekend you complete and send to us the ChinaTeach Job Placement application form. You can send this to us anytime up to 6 months from the date of your ChinaTeach Weekend. Please allow at least 2 months from submitting your application to starting a teaching job in China.
- We start the matching and liaising process with schools in China
- We send you the sample contract(s) for you to consider
- You sign the contract from your chosen school
- You apply for your "Z" Visa through the Chinese Embassy (we will advise if necessary) You book your flight to China and start your new job!
What Qualifications Do I Need to Apply?
To be eligible for acceptance onto the Job Placement Service you must fulfil the following criteria:
- Essential:
- Language: English must be your native language
- Nationality: UK, USA, Canada, Australia or New Zealand passport holder
- Age: 21 - 60 years old
- Qualifications: University degree
- Desirable: Recognised TEFL Certificate (CELTA/Trinity TESOL)
- Teaching experience
Can I Teach English in China With No TEFL or Teaching Qualification?
Yes, there are many teaching jobs in schools and Universities in China for which you do not require a formal TEFL qualification. However, ChinaTeach will be running an optional intensive one week "TEFL in China" course for those with no teaching qualifications. This will be held in London and in York in August. It will equip you with a range of basic teaching skills and techniques, with particular relevance to teaching in China.
